The foliage is green, and spiky, but not hard to the touch. Its about 7" tall, and the foliage is about 10" wide. Please help me! thank you!

Juniperus procumbens nana.

Junipers are outdoor plants and do not adapt well to an indoor environment. They thrive outdoors and will quickly decline and die indoors.

Junipers (and most conifers) can hold their green color for many weeks or even months after they have died. You may not even notice the decline, but it will surely die indoors.

Junipers do best will higher humidity than you can provide inside. They also do best in full sun, which is difficult to provide indoors. You would do best to find a spot outdoors for your juniper, or try your luck at something tropical such as a ficus.

You would do best to contact your local club for care in your area. Here's a link to help you find a club in your area:

    It's a juniper plant.

I'm not sure of the exact type, but untrimmed they can grow to look something like this:

Here in Northeast Ohio, they are very common garden shrubs … very hardy and easy to care for.

I have one that I am training into a bonsai … it's about 5-7 years old now.

Hope this helps. Good luck with your bonsai! :-)
