    My wife wants to shoot a guided tour of the yard. We have just over 100 bonsais, and my big concern will be making sure they are all free of weeds before the shoot — a full day of weeding to shoot ten minutes of video.

    Hold the tree’s …
    Hold the tree’s trunk base in one hand, and tap the rim of the pot lightly with the mallet, and it slides right out. It is much safer for the tree than trying to yank it out of the pot, and in any event I’m not going to risk a tree I paid $65 for to save a $3 flowerpot.
